Wellness Coaching/Energy Healing

artdecowebWhen I am working with clients in the capacity of Wellness Coach – Energy Healer, there always comes a time when this concept, of which Nisargadatta_M speaks here, comes up in a session. I have lost clients over this, perhaps because I am not tactful enough in expressing it, perhaps because most people cling to their story, no matter how painful, and think I am discounting them all together because I’m not interested in their story. So I’m going to hand this concept, which, I believe, is at the bottom of all real healing, over to a far more articulate voice than my own and we shall go from there.

My heart wants you awake. I see you suffer in your dream and I know that you must wake up to end your woes. When you see your dream as dream, you wake up. But in your dream itself I am not interested. Enough for me to know that you must wake up. You need not bring your dream to a definite conclusion, or make it noble, or happy, or beautiful; all you need is to realize that you are dreaming. Stop imagining, stop believing. See the contradictions, the incongruities, the falsehood and the sorrow of the human state, the need to go beyond. Within the immensity of space floats a tiny atom of consciousness and in it the entire universe is contained. Nisargadatta_M

I would say that you don’t even need to wake up fully. We needn’t become ascended masters to attain total wellness. All that is needed to assuage suffering is to recognize you/we are dreaming and apply the concept of lucid dreaming. We can live within our story, “I am this way because that happened to me in the past and I like who I am enough to stick with it no matter what!” but at the same time recognize we are dreaming and move it around at will, just as we would in a lucid dream that is going in a frightening direction.

When you think of your past, some images are crystal clear and others are a bit foggy or forgotten all together. The bits that are crystal clear are the ones you think about the most. You’ve gone over them time and time again. You may have embellished them over time. You could sit down right now and write a story about your life which seems true but even as you write you have to wonder, did it really happen that way? I’m sure most people have had that experience. Unfortunately most people think of the most traumatic scenes from their past the most, feed those thoughts on a regular basis, so the past can be a really painful place to spend time. You can change your story easily by being aware of the bad memories as they arise and simply acknowledging them and letting them pass rather than dwelling on them. “Oh there you are. Yes I know you well. Thank you for what you have given me for I’m sure you have made me, me. I think now, I will just let you go. Good by.”  If you meditate you do this all the time. As thoughts arise you become aware of them and let them go. It’s exactly the same thing.

I recently found some journals from around 30 years ago. I found some really nice writing on various subjects. I should really develop that talent further! I also found some really painful episodes written down, right there in black and white, in my own hand. I was stunned. These were journal entries and unsent letters from what I had always thought of as the best 6 years of my life! While I’ve thought of those 6 years that way for quite some time, I also knew that it wasn’t just a bed of roses. I just hadn’t dwelt on that aspect of that time. Simply reading about the painful experiences revived that pain in me. It took me a couple of hours and a good walk out in beautiful nature to breathe through that. Phew. I’m really glad I had, at some point, decided to mainly dwell on all the good experiences of that time. I continue to do so now. Mostly I prefer to just let the past be past and dwell right here, right now and be content with what is, not what was and what will be. I recommend it highly for total wellness.

In your fevered state, you project a past and a future and take them to be real. In fact, you know only your present moment. Why not investigate what is now, instead of questioning the imaginary past and future? Your present state is neither beginningless nor endless. It is over in a flash. Watch carefully from where it comes and where it goes. You will soon discover the timeless reality behind it. Nisargadatta_M
